A better root touch-up dye?

I recently saw an advert for this root touch up hair dye. I decided to give it a try as I do like the Loreal magic retouch spray.

Unfortunately, it seems that I have to do my roots every 3-4 weeks. The regrowth is so noticeable to me & it knocks my confidence... however wrong or right that might be.

As I said, I use sprays too but I am not keen on the residue they leave so I only use for a few days before I get the dye out again!

Have you tried this home hair dye from L'oreal? Let me know your thoughts.
